Kia PV5 Presentation

Kia PV5 – Three variants at market launch

At the launch of the PV5, there will be three variants: Passenger, Cargo, Chassis Cab. Passenger is not hard to guess, the variant for passenger transport with three rows of seats and plenty of space, whether for luggage or a camping conversion. Taxi companies are also likely to be interested in the minibus.

The PV5 Cargo is again offered in three sub-versions: standard, long-roof and high-roof versions and offers a capacity of up to 5.1 cubic metres as well as a rail system to adapt the commercial vehicle ideally to your own needs. The last variant is the PV5 Chassis Cab, which allows buyers to convert with flatbeds or refrigerated transport units. The two-seater is based on the Cargo variant.

In the future, further variants with other fields of activity are to follow.

Kia PV5 – Exterior design

The Kia PV5 can be built in different variants, so the commercial vehicle variant is to use the same basis as the van for the extended family. Accordingly, the body is of course rather functional. Nevertheless, Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy can also be seen here and there is a fresh aesthetic in the segment that is quite chic.

Kia PV5 Passenger front view

The thin, vertical headlights that are now characteristic of Kia are easy to see. From the front, a tidy look with many surfaces greets. The dimensions of the PV5 are unsurprisingly in direct competition with other passenger and commercial vehicles such as the VW ID.Buzz. With a length of 4,695 mm, a width of 1,895 mm and a height of 1,923 mm (with antenna) and a wheelbase of 2,995 mm, there is more than enough space for goods or people.

Kia has already announced that the PV5 will be offered in 4 different variants. Minibus, van, van with loading area and as a high-roof variant.

Kia PV5: Drive and range

The Kia PV5 will be launched as an all-electric vehicle. A front motor with up to 120 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque, together with three battery variants, provides a range of up to 400 km. All three versions can choose between the variants with 51.5 kWh or 71.2 kWh.

For the PV5 Cargo, there is another smaller variant with 43.3 kWh. With the built-in vehicle-to-load function, the PV5 can also be used as a mobile 220 volt power source.

Kia PV5: interior and dimensions

Kia has installed a modular system in the interior of the PV5, which makes it easy to adapt the car to the task at hand. The minimalist interior can thus be fully tailored to the user via the Kia AddGear system.

In addition to numerous storage areas, there are also other useful elements such as coat hooks or luggage nets. The infotainment system in the PV5 is based on Android and thus also supports business-specific applications as well as over-the-air updates to always have the latest software.

Kia PV5: sales launch and price

The targeted segment is highly competitive in Europe. Not only is the Volkswagen ID. Buzz a fierce competitor, Peugeot's E-Traveller or the group's own Hyundai Staria are already represented in the market. Kia plans to launch the PV5 in the second half of 2025. Orders are now open and the PV5 is available from €38,280. For this, you get a five-seater with a 51.5 kWh battery in the basic Essential trim level. The larger battery with 71.2 kWh is available from € 42,290, and in addition to the basic equipment, there are also the more extensive Plus and Elite lines.
